“Artists are people driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide.”
Donald Woods Winnicott
Rosana is a photographer and psychotherapist (MSc) originally from Brazil.
She started her career working and traveling with professional photographers across South America, Asia, and Europe. Her experiences during her years of travel triggered an extensive interest in social causes. This interest eventually led her to study Psychotherapy, which she pursues alongside her photographic work. Her particular fascination with the human psyche is more in our capacity to allow and transcend than in conforming our individual experiences towards a collective norm.
This fascination informs the way she relates to those she meets on her travels. Work such as her Breastfeeding Project is equally influenced by her professional experience as a therapist, her empathy, and her love for beauty.
Rosana’s photography shows her deep understanding of what is universal in us and her instinctive ability to communicate it across cultures and without words.
